Workshops with Philippa Moirai
Ashnah will be hosted Philippa on Sunday 14th June at Saturn Studio, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, and the 4 workshops were:
- Fast & Flowing Technique (level: Intermediate and up)
Exciting fast moves and combos from the FatChanceBellyDance® repertoire will be covered, looking at ways to transition beautifully between them, and add them to your dance. An understanding of the fundamental ATS® movements is helpful. Please being finger cymbals if you have them.
- The Art of Dancing Slowly (level: Intermediate and up)
This workshop will introduce you to a selction of slow movements from the FatChanceBellyDance® repertoire and show you how to piece them all together to crease a mesmerizing performance filled with seamless fluidity, control and grace.
- Tribal Formations (level: Improvers / Intermediate and up)
Add fun, flare and excitement to your dance with fabulous formations. Fundamental and complex formations will be explored, plus how to transition smoothly between them for great group improvisation in any dance space. This workshop is most suited to those with knowledge of classic ATS®.
- Indian & Flamenco Inspired ATS® (level: Intermediate and up)
ATS® is an eclectic dance form, influenced by traditional dances from India, Spain and the Middle East. This workshop will cover exciting Tribal movements inspired by Indian and Flamenco dance. An ability to execute the following moves is necessary: Egyptian Basic, Arabic, Hip Bump, 3⁄4 Shimmy, Taxeem, Bodywave. Experience Level: Intermediate and up.
Please note: this workshop may be divided into two workshops – 1 covering moves with an Indian flavour & the other covering movements with a Spanish feel.
